OAA-controlled Robots
SRI's Saphira robot-control software was made into an OAA agent, enabling robots to cooperate with each other and with other OAA agents. In 1996, a team of OAA-powered robots won first place at the '96 AAAI Robotics Competition and Exhibition (Office Navigation Task). As agents, robots could be added to the Multimodal map application and be controlled through pen and voice. After the MVIEWS agents were developed in 1997, the SUO robot control application was developed, combining the multimodal aspects of MMAP and the video annotation and processing capabilities of MVIEWS.
